Squaw Valley

Squaw Valley offers a world class skiing experience and has been the home to countless Olympic champions and world renowned extreme skiers. Squaw Valley, is recognized as an International ski resort and was the site of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. The area was dubbed the Pioneer Ski Area of America, commemorating 100 years of skiing in the Valley since it became the first location in the U.S. where organized skiing had it’s roots.

Squaw Valley was purchased by KSL Capital Partners in 2010. Then in 2011, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Ski Resort merged creating one of the largest ski resort experiences in North America. The new company operates as one, with joint lift passes for skiers and riders, yet it still preserves the unique character of the two resorts.

In the winter experience all that the mountain has to offer. With its 3,600 acres of terrain and 2,850 feet of vertical drop, it has some of the best extreme skiing in the country. The mountain has 30 ski lifts, an aerial tram, a funitel, and everything from nicely groomed beginner trails to steep chutes. In the warmer months you can enjoy golfing, mountain biking, and hiking, all while surrounded by the gorgeous towering peaks Squaw Valley has to offer.

Enjoy shopping and dining in all of the Village’s quaint shops and restaurants. The Village has many different musical performances as well as other popular events, year round. If you’re looking to venture outside of Squaw Valley, its close proximity to Truckee and North Lake Tahoe make it the perfect location for all kinds of outdoor fun.
