Truckee Luxury Property is a sponsor of the first annual “a TOAST to Truckee’s Creative Community.” This is a 10-day collection of art and culture events throughout the Town of Truckee featuring creative experiences that are interactive or offer behind-the-scenes access to artists or the creative process. The signature event is the Truckee Open Art Studios Tour on July 17, 18, & 19 and July 24, 25, & 26 10am to 5pm daily. There are 28 artists on this Tour in 15 studios. The studios are located throughout Truckee neighborhoods with all of them within 10 minutes of Historic Downtown Truckee.
There are six special events and seven workshops throughout the 10-day period, starting with a photography workshop by Grant Kaye tonight. All of the details are available on the CreativeTruckee.org website.
Friday night, the 17th you can attend a fundraiser for the Art-Health Alliance, Friends of the Veterans Hall, and future TOAST programming. This is a film screening and symposium focusing on Recreational and Creative therapies for Military Service Members and Veterans. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. During Toast, you can also enjoy prose and poetry of writers in Truckee, including Nicole Dreon, Marianne Porter, and Kat Terrey. You can also enjoy a performance by Duo Pomelo, a flute/cello duo who both perform as part of the George Hurd Ensemble, a group comprised of some of SF’s finest musical performers. These elements are part of a Gallery Exhibition at the Artisans Market Place on July 25th.
And, don’t miss the Truckee premier of the Elevate Tahoe documentary film, “Food Innovations above 6,000 feet.” This event is July Friday, July 24th.
